Disney Nature Scene :D oh yeah.
The place is Sater Meadows near Brundage Ski area in scenic McCall, Idaho. My family and I (mostly just my dad and us kids) usually camp there every Independence Day. Fortunately for me, I had Driver's Ed too close to when the annual camping trip was planned, so I had hoped it was cancelled. To my reluctant surprise, the day before he planned to go, my father tells the family we are going on the camping trip. My thoughts? "Great, stuck with the whole famn damily, no showers, hot hiking, and an unfathomable amount of mosquitoes."
You may think I am going on to tell you this is not what the camping trip was like, but it was exactly this, and then some.
I don't enjoy nature, I don't think a scraggly tree with lichens clinging to it is something to behold, and to me, a river is clearly just a river, but while I was camping, something changed. First, it was the smell. The fresh, clean smell of pine trees and dead deer was just amazing (okay, so no dead deer, but hey). Then, when the fam visited the lake, I gawked at a snowcapped, crescent-peaked mountain situated between two stretches of normal mountains, with rolling hills of conifers down to the lake that splashed my toes.
The very last thing that changed my mind about the outdoors was the storm.
It had been a mildly hot day, and apparently mother nature agreed, for she started a little sprinkle to cool everything off. Then, out of thin air, came torrential bouts of rainfall. So much rain that you could not see out of the windows because of the cascading sheets of water flowing over the window. I loved it. Then it hailed ferociously, and finally, by nightfall, it became calm. I was volunteered to go shut off the generator, and once I stepped outside, I would have sworn I stepped into a nature scene from a Disney movie.
It was calm, with a slight breeze that carried the scent of clean earth and rain and rustled the meadow grass. the burbling of the nearby creek caught my attention and when I looked at it, all I could see were sparkles from the moon's shattered reflection. In a smoother part of the water, the reflection of the moon reminded me of a circle of spilled mercury floating atop the water. I then looked up to the sky to see the moon itself, and instead was mesmerized by all the little stars blinking at me. I realized that any stargazing I did in my subdivision was a joke compared to what I was taking in then. The city lights drown all the pretty little dots of light.
I'm glad I stopped being ignorant enough to appreciate my surroundings. It's too bad I realize this on what could definitely be the last camping trip with my family.

Well you told me about nowhere. It sounds like someplace I'd like to go.
Kay. So Micah came back from Yew Nork on Wednesday. She came at midnight and helped me dirty my room by dumping all her beautiful stylish clothes on the floor. The next day we went to First Thursday with my baby sister Shannon and her mom. First Thursday consisted of the BAM (Boise Art Museum) and the History Museum, where we only spent like ten seconds.
Micah's mom found a scavenger hunt outside to which we only found the end of, and we went to tell the receptionist clerk whatever he is guy the word "discover" and got a candy prize. Shannon enjoyed the rock climbing.
Outside the BAM was a cute Abe Lincoln. We couldn't resist, although the sign did say no climbing.
And of course, these are the gorgeous best friend necklaces. Very handsome, and nobody else will have these kind of BFF necklaces!
| And we made strangers take pictures of us and the BAM shoe billboard. |
On Saturday, Micah just chilled with me the whole day and went to a concert with her mom.
On Sunday, I went boating with my dad and siblings for the whole day and got massively sunburnt, but it's okay, at least I'm not white. :D
And then yesterday, Monday, Micah decided she wanted us to go to Boise and walk the Greenbelt to her little pond. Unfortunately, I had only until 6 to be home and it was 2 when we left, and Micah did not enjoy that. On top of that, Micah parked on the other side of town and we had to walk to the greenbelt. We only made it to the Grove, and her nephew Kaden volunteered to go get the car and drive us to Ann Morrison Park, so we'd be closer, which was great, because I was developing mean water blisters the size and shape of flattened pennies. They HURT, but I remained optimistic. I tried not to complain. When we got there, it was clear there was no way I was getting home at 6, so we turned around and planned on leaving. We got home at 5:40, thank goodness. I'm sure Micah isn't fond of me right now, but oh well.
Today I don't feel like doing anything. I'm just gonna lay in my bed. Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone, cause today I don't feel like doing anything. Nothing at all.

The dashboard's melted, but we still have the radio.
Yesterday was Independence day. Yayy. I was asked by boyfriend to go with him to blow things up. Unfortunately I was not allowed to go. What I did instead was pull weeds, cut down flowers that were done blooming, trim the rosebushes, cut down the baby burning bushes and cut the grass WITH SCISSORS places the weedwacker didn't get, which was everywhere. Then I had to help make new screens for the upstairs windows because they are all broken and look like crap. Happy fourth of July. Then we set of a couple fireworks and got in the hot tub.
This morning I was woken up early to do the massive amount of dishes amassed in the sink because the fat lady did not do them while I was working outside yesterday. I hate summer. I still have to do two book report thingies and I need to borrow an AP Bio book to outline because I never checked one out before school ended. I also didn't turn in my rubric. I wonder if that means I won't be in it. Oh well. I hate AP anyways. Next year I'll have two, (hopefully) and I already hated the easy one I had because there was so much HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!! Stop complaining. To counteract the unhappiness going on above, here's a random picture.
